Pharmacy Technicians are the Pharmacist’s "right hand", and after graduating from our Pharmacy Technician degree program, you will be ready to work alongside Pharmacists, interpreting prescriptions, counting medications and working with customers. In addition, with Pharmacy Technician training, you will be able to differentiate between different drugs, understand medical abbreviations and terminology and develop advanced customer service skills.



Through our Pharmacy Technician training, we prepare our students to sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE), in order to help them become Certified Pharmacy Technicians (CPhT). Employers know that individuals who pass this voluntary exam have a standardized body of knowledge and skills. Many employers also will reimburse the costs of the exam as an incentive for certification.

Pharmacy Technicians have many important responsibilities that affect the health of people in their communities and beyond.



* Manage pharmacy aides/assistants

* Accept/interpret prescriptions for filling

* Compound pharmaceuticals or medical preparations

* Stock, organize, or label pharmaceutical supplies

* Maintain customer records, reports, or files

* Store pharmaceutical supplies or filled prescriptions

* Establish procedures concerning quality assurance

* Keep record of medication or equipment dispensed to patient

* Measure, weigh, or count products or materials

* Mix ingredients or chemicals according to specifications

* Understand drug products

* Insurance company billing

* Understand government health regulations

* Understand properties or composition of drugs, including multiple interactions.
