Certificates and Degrees

A trade school is a place where you can study if you don't have the possibility to go to college. These schools offer you technical and vocational programs in metal work, refrigeration and plumbing, etc. Most of them are studied in two years. If you have a school degree, you can find a job quicker than with a traditional degree; however, most of the students prefer to study in a four-year university, so there is a shortage of technical school graduates.

For example, in some careers such as massaging or hairstyling, a certificate from a trade school can be useful to open and set up your business. For some of these courses you don't need a high school degree.

You can obtain an associate degree in the following career school programs: nursing, accounting, criminal justice, business, psychology, office administration, culinary courses, graphic design, computer network technology, healthcare management, multimedia, paralegal, technicians (electrical, TV repair, automotive, plumbing, etc.), massage therapy and marketing.

Vocational School Benefits:
  • Easier to get a job: You can find a job quickly, because the placement rate is quite high. In addition, some of instructors in trade schools are associated with their own industries and their students can get a job by gathering new contacts.

  • Focused education: you can develop specific skills through training.

  • Short-term courses: You can get a degree between six months and two years, duration time is according to the course.

  • Flexible hours: Some trade schools offer online courses. This means that you can have a flexible schedule.

  • Funding higher education: if you have a trade school degree, you will get a job and you will be able to pay for a higher education.
A wide range of courses are offered by trade schools because they cover specific areas like technology, administration, human resources, accounting, business and health care.
