Government Careers
Government describes a variety of careers in local, state, and federal governments. Government careers have diverse educational requirements and they are available for students with a wide variety of educational backgrounds, e.g. mail carrier and customs officials require a high school diploma only. Other careers require a postsecondary training so vocational schools offer several different government programs. Local governments are usually the largest employers; government departments require well-trained professionals so applicants have a previous examination. Vocational schools provide formal education in government careers; this education includes foreign languages, statistics, political science, economics, journalism, education business, and international relations. Community and vocational schools give an associate, bachelor or master degree for all students who complete a government career successfully. Most government schools offer the following careers:
